On 19th of August 2009 the WCR’s Project Outline titled "Development of the public transport in Warsaw metropolitan area through improvement of the Warsaw Commuter Railway efficiency, reliability and safety" was submitted to the Swiss Party after it had been recommended by the National Co-ordination Unit (the Ministry for Regional Development). The WCR’s Project was among the set of four projects that were submitted for verification carried out by the National Co-ordination Unit after completion of the formal and second merit assessment carried out by the Intermediate Body (the Implementing Authority for European Programmes).
